Zoey Dempsey Dr Zoey Sarah Dempsey, MBChB, FRCA

Dr Zoey Dempsey became a consultant anaesthetist at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh in 2012, having previously worked in Newcastle, Dundee and Glasgow. In 2010 she was the first full time anaesthetic fellow to work with the Emergency Medical Retrieval Service, where she developed interests in patient safety, human factors, and emergency anaesthesia. In 2011 she won an original research award form the AAGBI for work she completed with the EMRS and Glasgow University, studying the effects of noise and vibration on cognitive performance. She became the clinical lead for Anaesthetic Allergy Investigation for NHS Lothian in 2014 and has introduced a number of new initiatives across the trust to improve the diagnosis, management and investigation of patients with anaesthetic allergies. When not working she is a busy mum to 2 year old twin girls and is on the board of a local charity which supports families with twins and multiples.
