Caroline is a Consultant Clinical Health Psychologist and the Professional Lead for Clinical Health Psychology Services with NHS Lothian in Edinburgh, which includes the pain management programme. She has worked in a variety of settings including pain, oncology, palliative care, cystic fibrosis and clinical genetics. She contributes to teaching on the D.ClinPsych course at the University of Edinburgh and offers an annual advanced practice seminar on “Systemic approaches to working with people with illness and long term conditions”.
Caroline is actively involved in training and has developed a 6 day training course called Developing Practice and co developed an online module called Emotion Matters for non- psychologists working with people with long term conditions. A successful partnership with NHS Education Scotland has resulted in a train the trainer module, and over 50 trainers being trained to enable the Developing Practice course to be offered in all NHS Boards in Scotland.
